On Monday, police were call to a disturbance at a home around 1pm where they found a 41-year-old man with serious injuries.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he later died.

His alleged attacker is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A witness told WAtoday the incident started after a boy allegedly stole a bicycle and a man had caught up with the youngster.

She said the man allegedly began hitting the boy around the head when a relative of the boy came out from a nearby house to intervene.

“The man stopped hitting the boy and the men then got into an argument that led to the boy’s relative being stabbed multiple times in the chest,” the witness said.

Coolgardie Street was closed off for forensic investigators.
